I often think that the night is more alive and more richly colored than the day.
~Vincent Van Gogh
For 2011, one of my goals is posting a 'Photo of the Week'. The 'Photo of the Week' will share a favorite photograph of mine and explain some tips on how to capture an image like the one I post. If you have any questions or comments, please leave them below.
Here is a night shot in Rome of the Vatican. It had just rained which makes for great reflections of color and saturation. I love Rome! Definitely an amazing city to visit and photograph.

To capture a photograph like this:
1) Shoot at night, with light from street lights or surrounding buildings.
2) Set a slow shutter speed and use a tripod.
3) Consider using a shutter release cable to avoid any camera shake.
4) Head out during the rainfall or just after to get the streets while they are still wet and reflecting light.
Have you been to Rome? I would love to see some photos from my readers' trips! Feel free to share your photo links below in comments!
